13!

What is the significance of this number you ask?

Well, Brunsli's post about her 4 year lockversary reminded me that I didn't post about my 13 year lockversary! Yeah, 13 years..... Can you believe it!

It is actually not anything that I would readily remember and recognize at this point except when people stop me and ask me questions about my hair.

As I have said before, I am immensely happy with it and can't imagine myself any other way!

this is my 11th year of locking and my hair is just reaching between my shoulder blades to mid back! this is the longest that I have allowed my locs to grow since i started them.

mega props to you and your waist length locs, they're gorgeous!

  4. I do admire your hair and have been wondering how you keep it from clumping!
A couple of years ago, I say a guy in the supermarket in Ja. He had theeeee mooosttt gorgeous locks. I just had to ask him about it. Can't remember what he said about not getting 'bed head'. Which is what I dread most if I were to lock my hair. The other thing I dread almost as much is the dead hair ends/roots coming out and just sitting on my head. I can see the white roots because my hair is very black...when I am not being grey.

Another, an African man, had wonderful shoulder length locks all the same perfect size. We had just de-planed from Ja. He said he washed it every morning and used shea butter to care it.

I not only admire your hair, I envy it too...LOL...

  8. Thanks everyone! Yes, this is definitely the longest my hair has ever been too. When I used to relax it, it wouldn't grow much past my shoulders without breaking off. I am just letting it go until it gets too long for me and I want to trim it. Who knows when that will be....

And Gema, I have never really had a bed head issue. I do remember that I did have a couple locks in the back that seemed to be flattening out but they just disappeared over time.
